Industrial safety can be considered as the techniques put into practice to trim down the threat of injury, loss and danger to persons, property or the environment in any location concerning with the manufacturing, producing and processing of goods or merchandise.
It can also be known as the work place safety (or) occupational safety. With the advancement of technologies, the danger for the life of human being is increasing. The idea of industry safety was introduced with a view of avoiding workplace accidents which leads to death or the disability of employee, not only employee is effected but also employer is effected by loss of property, machine hour and man hour. Losses indirectly to the employer in terms of
  • compensation to the worker,
  • medical expenditure,
  • loss of time to the co worker,
  • demoralisation to the group,
  • and training a new worker.
Industrial safety was first started in 1912 in USA with first cooperative safety congress and the organisation National Safety Council. Now most of the industries have the motto of “safety first”. All industrial personnel are trained about the basic industrial safety aspects of man, machine, and material. Safety officer must motivate and train all the worker with all the safety aspect towards making him good at safety, which helps himself to develop safe working environment. Safety at workplace should be given first importance. Safe working habit can be learned only through practice.
Every Industrial personnel should contribute towards safety towards making the environment safe to work.
